* Sir Edward Selby Smyth served as Brigade Major to the Forces in the Southern Concan and Sawant Warred country during the campaign of 1844 and 45, and was present at the attack and capture of several strong stockades us well as in the operations before the mountain forts of Monohur, and at their final assault; also at the forcing of the Kirwattee Pass, and subsequent occupation of the country below the Ghats. Served also in the Kaffir war of 1851-52 (Medal), and mentioned in General orders for conduct in command of a Column in action in the Fish River Bush (Brevet of Major); with the expedition north of the Orange River in 1852-53, afterwards as Deputy Assistant Quarter Master General of the 2nd Division; and subsequently as D. Adj. General and D. Q. M. General to the forces in South Africa from January 1854 to July 1860. Received the thanks of the Irish Government in 1867 for his services as Deputy Adjutant General during the suppression of the Fenian outbreak. While commanding the troops in Mauritius, he was twice sworn in and acted as Governor in 1870 and 1871.

Colonel Warren served with the 82nd Regt. in the Crimea from the 2nd Sept. 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Also in the Indian campaign of 1857-59, and was present the relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, defeat of the Gwalior Contingent at Cawnpore, action of Khodagunge, and Occupation of Futtehghur,-acting successively as Orderly Officer to Brigadier Russell, Colonel Biddulph, ColoneHate, and Sir John Inglis; served the Rohilcund campaign, including the defence of the Jail and subsequent opera tions at Shahjehanpore, and actions of Khankur and Bunkagaon (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Afghan wat in 1880 in command of the 78th Highlanders (Medal). Was Acting Brigadier in command of the 2nd Brigade of the Candahar Field Force from the 18th December 1880 till the 22nd March 1881.

Lt.Colonel Stockwell served with the 72nd Highlanders in the Crimea from 16th July to 18th Sept. 1855 including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served with the 72nd High landers throughout the Afghan war of 1878-80 with the Koorum, Cabul, and Cabul-Candahar Field Forces, includ ing the Khost Expedition. Was present in the engagements at Mattoon and Charasiab, and in the operations around Cabul in December 1879 (twice mentioned in despatches). Commanded the rear guard of the Division at Zahidaba during the night attack of 4th October 1879. Accompanied Sir Frederick Roberts in the march to Candahar, and commanded the Regiment at the battle of Candahar after the death of Colonel Brownlow, and brought it out e action (mentioned in despatches, Medal with three Clasps, and Bronze Decoration).

Lt.Colonel Forbes served with the 19th Regiment in the Crimea from the 6th September 1855, including the sieg and fall of Sebastopol, and assault of the Redan on the 8th September (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medali. 54 Lt.Colonel Guinness served with the 72nd Highlanders throughout the Afghan war of 1878-80 with the Kooruin, Cabul, and Cabul-Candahar Field Forces, part of the time as Brigade Major to Brigadier Genera Macpherson. Captain Roberts served as Superintendent of Elephant Transport with the Duffla Expedition of 1874. Berved in the Indian campaign of 1857-59; commanded the Infantry in the action of Secundra; commanded a Begade during the siege of Lucknow, taking the Residency, Iron Bridge, Great Emaumbarra, and several other portant positions; afterwards commanded the Infantry of the Azimghur Field Force, and present in the action at Tera, taking of Azimghur, detached in pursuit of Koer Sing, actions at Azimghur, Munnear, Sheoporeghat, and arias operations in and around Jugdespore and the Jungles, and pursuit to Buxar. On 15th June 1858 appointed ommand the troops in the Azimghur and Jounpore districts, and on 25th June to the command of the disturbed tricts of Behar, Dinapore, Ghazepore, and Shahabad, and constantly engaged in pursuing the rebels during the t and wet seasons; took the field after the rains, defeated the rebels at Karisath and drove them into the jungle, Jagdespore, pursued and drove the rebels into the Kymore Hills, killing 1,200; campaign in the Kymore Hills and successful night attack at Sulya Duhar. On 15th Jan. 1859 appointed to command the troops in Palamow and Chota Nagpore, engaged in pursuing the rebels in Palamow (frequently mentioned in despatches, and thanked by the Governor General of India, Brevet of Colonel, KCB., Medal with Clasp).

L&Colonel St. Leger served during the Indian mutiny in 1858-59 with the 8oth Regiment in a Flying Column der Colonel Christie, including an engagement on the banks of the Jumna; also in Ross' Camel Corps with Sir Tagh Rose's Force and was present at the battle of Gowlowlie and capture of Calpee (Medal with Clasp).

Lt.Colonel M'Causland and Major Everett served with the 79th Highlanders in the Indian campaign of 1858-59, ading the siege and capture of Lucknow, attack on the Fort of Rooyah, actions of Allygunge, Bareilly, and abjebanpore, capture of Forts Bunniar and Mahomdie, passage of the Gogra at Fyzabad, capture of Rampore Issa, and subsequent operations in Oude across the Gogra and Raptee rivers (Medal with Clasp).

*Major Oldham served in the China Expeditionary Force of 1860, and was present in the actions of Sinho and Tangka, assault and capture of the North Taku Fort, and surrender of Pekin (Medal with two Clasps). Served in the Cossyah and Jynteah Hill campaign in 1863.

Major Annesley served throughout the second phase of the Ashanti war in 1874 attached to the 42nd Highhaders, and was present at the battle of Amoaful (slightly wounded), capture of Becquah, battle of Ordahsu and pture of Coomassie (Medal with Clasp).
