As Aide de Camp to Sir Harry Smith in the action with and defeat of the rebel Boers at Awmylasts (South Africa) on the 29th August 1848, and in the Kaffir campaign of 1850-51 (Medal, and Brevet of

Served with the 80th Regt. in the Burmese war in 1853, with the expedition under Sir John Cheape Beast the robber chief Myattoon in the Donabew district, and at the assault and capture of his stronghold on the - March—succeeded to the command of a Wing of Infantry (Medal for Pega, and CB.) Accompanied the 80th India in 1857, and served in the Sepoy rebellion. At the close of the operations in 1859 he succeeded Sir ed Horsford as Brigader in command of the forces on the Nepaul frontier, when, in co-operation with the Baai troops, most of the rebel leaders and a large body of Sepoys who had taken refuge in the Nepaul Terai were red, for which services he received the thanks of Government, and on the breaking up of the Brigade was ed, by Lord Clyde, Deputy Adjutant General of Her Majesty's Forces in India.

Colmel Tredennick served with the 57th Regiment in the New Zealand war in 1865-66, and was present at fur of Kakaramea, storm and capture of the fortified Pahs of Otapawa and Ketemeri, and various minor Pats Medal). Served in the Zulu campaign of 1879, and commanded the 57th Regiment from the middle of - is the end of the war, including the operations of "Clarke s Column" (Medal with Clasp).

Clonel Picot served with the 57th Regiment in the New Zealand war of 1863-65, and was slightly wounded at mbardment of Kaitake (Medal).

Mayor Huskisson served with the 80th Regiment in the Indian mutiny and campaign in Oude in 1858-59, ding the capture of the Fort of Simree, actions at Bera, Doondeakera and Bussingpore (Medal). Served as Lan of the Regiment with the left attack during the Bhootan expedition of 1855-66 (Medal with Clasp. end with the force under Major General Colborne against the Malays in Perak in 1875-76, as acting D. A. Q. M. eral, and was present at the capture of Kinta (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Clasp). Served in Zah war of 1879 Medal).

Mayor Matthews serve with the 57th Regiment in New Zealand in 1865-67, and was present at the affair of ani (Medal). Served as Acting Major of the 57th Regiment in the Zulu campaign of 1879, and was present e action of Gingindhlovu and relief of Ekowe, and throughout the operations of Clarke's Column " (Medal Baasp).

Majors Morewood and Hallett, and Lieuts. Jones and Munro served with the 57th Regiment in the latter part the Zain war of 1879, and throughout the operations of "Clarke's Column" (Medal with Clasp). Mayor Hinxman served in the Perak expedition in 1875-76, and was promoted Captain 57th Regiment from ant 10th Regiment, in recognition of his gallant services when commanding the attack on the Stockades Paros, Malay Peninsula, 7th December 1875 mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp). Served with Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879, and was severely wounded in the engagement at Gingindhlovu (Medal

aptain Lyde served with the 57th Regiment in the latter part of the Zulu war of 1879, and throughout the racons of ** Clarke's Column" (Medal with Clasp). Served with the 15th Bombay Native Infantry in the latter fthe Afghan war in 1880, and at the occupat on of the Marree country (Medal)

Captain Garstin served as Adjutant of the 57th Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879, including the action of hlavu and re iel of Ekowe, and the operations of "Clarke's Column" (Medal with Clasp).

aptain Blake served in the latter part of the Zulu war of 1879, first with the 57th Regiment and afterwards Jason Adjutant at Fort Pearson (Medal with Clasp).

Captain Michel served throughout the Zulu war of 1879, first in the Transport Service and afterwards in the Establishment (Megal with Clasp).

*Seat Warden served with the 7th Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879, and was present at the action of (*andalovn and relief of Ekowe (Medal with Clasp).

Lest. Towers-Clark served with the 57th Regiment in the Zulu campaign of 1979, including the action of Paradhlovu and relief of Ekowe. Served afterwards to the end of the war as Orderly Officer to Lt Colonel far whie commanding successively the 2nd Brigade 1st Division and "Clarke's Columu." Made several road Paya, incinding the road in Zululand from St. Paul's to the Middle Drift of the Tugela River (Medal with Clasp). Qarter Master Wood served with the 57th Regiment in the Crimea from the 23rd September 1854, including attles of Balaklava and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, attack of the Redan on the 18th June, bometment and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Served also in the New Baird war from 1861 to 1866 in the provinces of Taranaki and Wanganni (Medal). Served with the 57th Regica to the Zulu war of 1879, and was present at the action of Gingindhlovu and relief of Ekowe, and throughout operations of **Ciar e's Column" (Medal with Clasp).

1 Sir Arthur Cunynghame proceeded to China in 1841 as Aide de Camp to Lord Saltoun, and was present at the storm and capture of Chin-kiang-Foo (led the Column of attack on the Heights of Makuikiow), and at the investment of Nankin (Medal). In 1854 accompanied the Army to the East as Assistant Quarter Master General to the 1st Division, was present at the affair of Bulganac, battle of Alma, taking of Balaklava, affair of 23rd Oct. on the Heights of the Tchernaya, battles of Balaklava and Inkerman (served with the Guards in the Sand-bag Battery, and led into action a detached portion of the 20th Regiment), and siege of Sebastopol up to May 1855 (Medal with four Clasps, CB., Officer of the Legion of Honor, Turkish Medal, and 4th Class of the Medjidie). In March 1855 was appointed local Major General, in May took command of a Division of the Turkish Contingent, and in August received the personal thanks of the Sultan and was created a Lt. General in the Turkish Army. In Oct. 1855 sailed in command of 10.000 men to occupy Kerteh, and assisted to maintain that position throughout the second winter in the Crimea (Turkish War Medal, and 2nd Class of the Medjidie). In 1863 commanded at Lahore the reserve forces of the army employed in the Sittana campaign. On the 2nd and 23rd April 1869, when in command of the Northern Division of Ireland, received the thanks of the Irish Government on the suppression of the Fenian rising. In July 1869 made KCB. Established the military occupation of the Transvaal on its annexation in 1877. Commanded the combined forces on the Kei River in the war with the Galekas and rebellion of the Gaikas in Kaffraria in 1877 (Medal with Clasp). In 1878 made GCB.

Colonel Ashburnham served with the 60th Rifles in the Indian mutiny campaign in 1857-58, including the actions on the Hindun, battle of Budlee ke Serai and taking of the Heights before Delhi, subsequent siege operations, assanit and capture of the city, with the final attack on and occupation of the palace. Campaign in Rohilcund, including the actions of Bugawalla and Nugena, relief of Moradabad, action on the Doiura, assault and capture of Bareilly, attack and bombardment of Shabjehanpore defeat of the rebels and relief of the garrison, capture of the Fort of Bunnai, pursuit of the enemy to the left bank of the Goomtee, destruction of the Fort of Mahomdee, attack on and destruction of Shahabad (Medal with Clasp). Served with the Candabar Column in the Afghan war of 1878-80. Commanded the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles from the outbreak of the war till the 18th February 1879, including the surrender and occupation of Candahar and the advance on Khelat-i-Ghilzie. Was present at the action of Ahmed Kheyl and surrender of Gbuznee, also at the attack on and capture of the Urzoo villages (CB. Medal with Clasp). Commanded the 3rd Battalion 60th Rifles throughout the Boer war of 1880-81, and was present at the actions at Lang's Nek (mentioned in despatches) and the Ingogo River (mentioned in despatches).

Lt.Colonels Henderson and Algar served with the 60th Rifles in the suppression of the mutiny in the Shahabad district of Bengal in 1858 (Medal). Also throughout the campaign of 1860 in China (Medal with two Clasps for Taku Forts and Pekin).

Lt.Colonel Byron served with the 38th Regiment in the Indian campaign in 1857-58, and was present at the assault and capture of Meangunge, siege and capture of Lucknow, and action at Barree (Medal with Clasp). Served with the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Afghan war from October 1878 to November 1885, took part in the advance on and occupation of Candahar and Khelat i-Ghilzie, and was present in the engagements at Ahmed Kheyl and Urzoo. Accompanied Sir Frederick Roberts in the march to Candahar, and was present at the battle of Candahar (mentioned in despatches, brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with two Clasps, and Bronze Decoration). Commanded the Battalion in the Marri expedition under Brigadier General MacGregor.

Lt.Colonel Ogilvy served with the 3rd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Boer war in 1881.

Lt. Colonel Charley served with the 2nd Battalion both Rifles in the Afghan war from October 1878 to February 1880, and took part in the advance on and occupation of Candahar and Khelat-i-Ghilzie (Medal).

19 Major J. G. Crosbie served with the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Afghan war from June to September 1880. Accompanied Sir Frederick Roberts in the march to Candahar, and was present at the battle of Candahar (Medal with Clasp, and Bronze Decoration).

11 Major Trotman served with the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Afghan war from October 1878 to July 1854, took part in the advance on and occupation of Candahar and Khelat-i-Ghilzie, and was present in the engagements at Ahmed Kheyl and Urzoo near Ghuznee (Medal with Clasp).

12 Major C. H. Smith, Captain Thurlow, and Lieuts. Miles, Lysley and Pigott served with the 3rd Battalion 6oth Rifles in the Zulu war from April to September 1879 (Medal with Clasp). Also served in the Boer war in 1881.

Captain Fetherstonhaugh and Lieuts. Nevili and Myers served with the 3rd Battalion 6oth Rifles in the Zula war from April to September 1879 (Medal with Clasp).

14 Lt. Colonel Terry, Captain Dickenson, Leuts. Wells and Herbert served with the 3rd Battalion 60th Rifles in the latter part of the Zulu war of 1879 (Medal with Clasp).

Majors Wallace, Fraser, Davies, and Holbech served on the Red River expedition of 1870.

15 Major Morris served with the 60th Rifles throughout the campaign of 1860 in China (Medal with two Clasps). Served with the 3rd Battalion 6oth Rifles in the latter part of the Zulu war of 1879 (Medal with Clasp). 16 Colonel Grenfell served as Aide de Camp to Sir Arthur Cunynghame in the operations of 1877-8 in the Transkei; also as Staff Officer to Colonel Glyn, commanding a field force in the Transkei, and was present in the engagement with the Galekas and Gaikas at Quintana Mountain on the 7th Feb. 1878 (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major). Served in the Kafir war of 1878 as Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quarter Master General at Head Quarters. Served in the Zulu war of 1879 as Deputy Assistant Adjutant General at Head Quarters, and was present in the engagement at Ulundi (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp). Served under Sir Evelyn Wood in the Boer war of 1881 as Assistant Quarter Master General. Served in the Egyptian war of 1882 as Assistant Adjutant and Quarter Master General on the Head Quarters Staff, and was present at the engagements of Tel-el-Mahuta and Kassasin (9th Sept.), and in the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (mentioned in despatches, Aide de Camp to the Queen, Medal with Clasp, and 3rd Class of the Medjidie).

17 Major Donald Browne served in the Boer war in 1881 as Aide de Camp to Major General Buller, Chief of the Staff.
