DESCRIPTION OF MEDICINE CHESTS. The annexed are specimens of a few of the Medicine Chests constructed for the use of individuals travelling, or for clergymen, or families residing in the country. FIGURE 1.-A Mahogany Chest, with brass corners and edges, 10 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 9 inches deep, containing, in the top, sixteen bottles and a pill tile; in the drawer, six small bottles, three glass pill pots, two tin boxes for ointment, pestle and mortar, measure glass, scales and weights, bolus knife, and spatula.-Price £7: 10: 0. SECOND SIZE.-Without brass corners, containing fourteen bottles in the top, and four small bottles in the drawer.-Price £5: 0:0. THIRD SIZE. FIGURE 2.-A Rosewood French Polished Chest, resembling a lady's work box, eleven inches long, 83 wide, and 5 deep, containing sixteen bottles, scales, weights, pestle and mortar, measure glass, two glass pill pots, and bolus knife, very handsome.-Price £5:5: 0. FIGURE 4.-A Mahogany Chest, adapted for the chaise pocket in travelling, 9 inches long, 3 wide, and 9 deep, containing eight bottles in the top, and a drawer with five bottles, scales and weights, with a vacant space for pills, &c-Price £3:30. FIGURE 5.-A portable Coat Pocket Chest, the size of an octavo volume, containing two large bottles and six small ones, for concentrated medicines, peculiarly adapted for travelling.-Price £1 : 15 : 0. FIGURE 6.-A large size Mahogany Chest, with folding wings, containing five large bottles in the back, nine in each wing, five large bottles in front, and six drawers, containing seven small bottles, ointment and pill glasses, mortar, measure glass, pill tile, bolus knife, spatula, and funnel; the large bottom drawer vacant for various articles.-Price £10:50. A small Rosewood Chest, with four bottles in front and six in each wing; two drawers, one containing scales, measure glass, and bolus knife, and the other for various articles.-Price £4: 0:0. The following List of Medicines, with their doses and properties attached, is intended to suggest the most generally useful for the ordinary exigencies of a family. The list contains many medicines of the same properties, for the purpose of affording an opportunity for selection, and to assist in purchasing a chest for any required use. Mindererus Spirit Manna.
