This constitution was adopted by a convention that met at Mineola, 23 March, 1858, adjourned to Leavenworth two days following, and finished its work 3 April. The claim was made that it was ratified at its submission to the people on 18 May. A certified copy of the constitution adopted at Leavenworth, in the Territory of Kansas [April 3, 1858]; and a schedule of votes for the constitution and state officers. n.t.-p.
