16. And charged them that they should not make him known:

17. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

18. Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him; and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

19. He shall not strive, nor cry, neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

20. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. 21. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

22. Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind and dumb; and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

23. And all the people were amazed; and said, Is not this the Son of David?

24. But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devile, but by Beelzebub, the Prince of the devils.

8. Ánd from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

9. And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

10. For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

11. And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

12. And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

28. Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme;

29. But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness: but is in danger of eternal damnation.

30. Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

19. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out; Therefore shall they be your judges.

20. But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

21. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace :

22. But when a stronger than he shall come upon him and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted and divideth his spoils.

10. And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

11. And he answered, and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven: but to them it is not given.

12. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. (2)

13. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not and hearing, they hear not; neither do they understand.

14. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand: and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive.

15. For this people's heart is waxed gross; and their ears are dull of hearing and their eyes they have closed: lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears; and should understand with their heart; and should be converted, and I should heal them.

16. But blessed are your eyes, for they see and your ears, for they hear.
